JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Brand Manager- WSM will be responsible:

  • To contribute to local business strategy for the Wound care & Skin Management portfolio to achieve overall business objectives.
  • Develop brand equity and help drive growth in line with defined goals/targets & secure the optimal range assortment to maximise customer satisfaction & profitability of the business.
  • To work with the Marketing Director and Marketing Team to develop & implement appropriate strategy, campaigns and tools to target new customer acquisition, support/retain current customers and enable our internal functions to drive growth & efficiency in an effective manner to reach set targets or defined goals
  • Supporting the sales force with materials generation, planning of exhibition attendance, campaign development & execution and product management / trouble-shooting.
  • Drive online traffic to generate sales by ensuring the Wound care and Medical Appliance sections of the CliniSupplies and Clinidirect websites are kept current, accurate and are regularly updated with useful content.  
  • The role will include Staff management responsibility. Where applicable: lead, coach & develop team Individual(s)
  • Work closely with Creative & digital development team to build detailed briefs and deliver creative / Innovative projects

The Senior Brand Manager-WSM role is a “office/field based” position.

MAIN DUTIES

Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, you will need to demonstrate:

Determining Strategy & Activities

  • Work closely with stakeholders, customers, field sales team to develop and execute clear strategies, marketing plans / campaigns, PR and communication in line with the needs of the market to ensure maximum opportunities, sustainable profitability, growth & market share.
  • Successfully launch new products / phase out old products in line with sales organisation & market needs to sustain profitability, growth & market share.
  • Contribute to central marketing team activities (e.g. Marketing Meetings, projects, conference, Exhibitions & Data Management)
  • Determine and manage budgets, including advertising and promotions, events, online, clinical studies and education. Keep budgets within defined parameters.

Social Awareness – Customer Insight, Competitor & Market Knowledge

  • Work closely with customers & sales team in the field and remotely to:
    • Understand our customers and how best to meet their needs and drive brand awareness / adoption, sales growth, product education, campaign activity, formulary/ contract compliance
    • Consistently engage the sales team to drive campaign awareness / activity, lead conversion, customer support, marketing support requirements, product education.
  • Identify & monitor market & competitor trends, changes & external factors to enable any opportunities to be exploited through marketing activities.
  • Conduct research on trends, market developments and competitor activity to inform the business / marketing / sales functions of any product related issues/opportunities, competitor activities, market trends, customer’s needs & marketing opportunities to ensure that Clinisupplies positions the products that are needed to satisfy the customers.
  • Manage associated third party relationships, including professional associations, key opinion leaders, charities and patient advocacy groups, to support the relevant brands, campaigns, launches, initiatives & best clinical practice.
  • Attend relevant conferences and exhibitions to ensure the company has an impactful presence at meetings that generate sales leads.

Pricing, Forecasting & Measurement

  • Maintain local pricing strategy awareness within company guidelines & support sales activity & tender submissions to ensure profits & market share are in line with or above budget/forecast.
  • Work In conjunction with Head of Marketing to prepare budgets / forecasts for the agreed brand assortment to optimise spend and drive cost effectiveness where possible.
  • Measure the success of the sales & marketing strategy / campaigns & benchmark against competitors & take corrective action where appropriate.
  • Monitor closely and analyse performance/ KPIs for all activities and campaigns.

Communication & Marketing Mix

  • Develop & implement, with the support of the Marketing Team, sales & marketing concepts, arguments & claims to support the sales organisation & drive growth.
  • Maintain a positive & close dialogue with the local sales management team & all appropriate stakeholders to ensure alignment & execution of marketing strategy.
  • Use a mix of Online / direct marketing techniques to acquire and retain customers for the Clinidirect website, Home Delivery Service for Medical Appliances.

Data, Support, Training & Education

  • Centrally maintain & develop the product catalogue assortment list, other product & Customer data related material & collateral to assist with the efficient delivery of projects (e.g. Web Catalogue, CRM)
  • Training - Secure competence & knowledge within the sales organisation & customer base to improve competencies & knowledge to achieve targets.
  • Drive online traffic to generate sales / sample requests by ensuring the Urology, Ostomy & DAC sections of the CliniSupplies, Clinidirect websites, Mobile App’s, Blogs, Newsletters and Social media pages are kept current, accurate and are regularly updated with useful content.
  • Maintain CRM activities and customer data so that it can be used effectively to develop our customer relationships and communication.
  • Act as an internal point of reference for all product related queries.

  • Set, measure & review objectives for team individual(s) that you have responsibility for. Support & develop through coaching, training & regular 1:1’s in line with core objectives/behaviours/ competencies

Specific Activities:

  • Provide ongoing expert product support to new and existing internal and external customers.
  • Work effectively with sales team to drive successful sales outcomes in line with targets and business expectations.

  • Utilise resources available and exploit data/information to support customers appropriately.
  • Develop personal understanding of market dynamics and challenges and feedback relevant information to the management teams.
  • Understanding and interpretation of financial data.
  • Collaborate with all internal departments and team members to ensure a high level of customer service to clients, proactively feeding back opportunities for improvement.
  • Invest time in developing the highest level of competent in product and procedure knowledge.
  • Seek out new business development opportunities – within evaluating and target accounts.
  • Support sales team members with product presentation, education and demonstration as necessary.
  • Complete all field visit activities in line with management expectations.
  • Report all support activity utilising the business tools and systems provided.
  • Maintain all company equipment to required standards.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • At least 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in Business Studies or Marketing.
  • Understanding of the NHS supply chain or healthcare industry
  • Healthcare Marketing Experience
  • Digital & Social Media Marketing Experience
  • Advanced Microsoft skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Presentation Skills
  • Numeracy/Analytical Skills
  • Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills

Desirable:

  • Line management experience and / or team leader experience
  • Wound care Market Experience
  • Sales Experience / Experience of working with sales teams.
  • CIM qualifications
