JOB PURPOSE

The Operations Manager will be responsible:

For the development and implementation of a smooth efficient warehouse and sales order processing service that meets the expectations and needs of customers and clients Ensuring we provide high levels of customer service to our internal and external customers

The Operations Manager role is a head office based role

Brief description of the job responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will need to:

  • Oversee the daily workings of warehouse and sales order processing
  • Plans, schedules & reviews workload and manpower to make sure targets are met on a cost effective basis
  • Manages the stock control and checks that inventory records are accurate
  • Establish and monitor overall operations performance through defined KPIs for operations and quality of service standards
  • Ensure Operations is managed in line with approved Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery
  • Ensures that health and safety regulations are followed
  • Responsible for management of external logistics provider, ensuring achievement of SLA’s
  • Oversee stock management – Internally and externally
  • Manages quality control checks on in coming goods.
  • Continually strive to improve the operations function to meet corporate objectives
  • Demonstrate excellent cross functional working across organisation
  • Establish performance goals for operations employees, and monitor performance on a continuous basis
  • Provide direction, development and leadership to operations staff.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Possess a strong background in operations management within a Sales and Marketing organisation
  • Possess a working knowledge of managing a subcontracting environment
  • Good problem solving skills
  • The ability to motivate and lead a team

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to decisive work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to negotiate priorities with staff at all levels
