JOB PURPOSE

A Talented and Driven Pharmacy Manager

You will have experience of working in community pharmacy, showing commerciality & leadership whilst being responsible for great customer service and delivering results. You will dispense items, conduct additional services such as MURs and be responsible for profit & loss, manage stock, operational and GPhC standards whilst being fully supported by the Business Manager and wider team

Brief description of the job responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES

Reporting directly to the Regional Director; you will need to:

  • To accurately receive, record and assemble prescriptions, issue the appropriate receipts and be up to date with of any changes in drug therapy and interactions between prescribed medications.
  • To recruit and manage the pharmacy support team.
  • To ensure the smooth running of the dispensary, including, maintaining computer records and ensure that the paperwork pertaining to the various schemes is kept up to date and in line with Company procedures.
  • To ensure that any errors or safety issues are brought promptly to the attention of the Business Manager.
  • To maintain good stock control including; rotation of stock, maintaining appropriate stock levels, using correct suppliers, and ensuring that the delivery details are correct
  • To deliver professional and efficient customer service at all times, enhancing the relationship with Pharmacy Customers.
  • To maintain a good working relationship between colleagues, customers and other health care professionals.
  • Strictly observe statutory regulations relating to the supply of medical products as per the Pharmacy Act 2007.
  • To be involved where appropriate in programmes of Health Promotion and the implementation of Pharmaceutical Care.
  • To partake in Continuing Education Programmes to enhance continuous professional development.
  • To maintain correct procedures for the handling, processing and control of cash and card payments and all receipts in accordance with the Company Policy.
  • To be responsible for the security of all stock, property, keys and the safety of all staff and customers.
  • To observe the details as laid down in the Health and Safety of Work Act and that all staff adhere to the details.
  • Ensure that the proper procedure for the various Department of Health Schemes e.g. DPS, LTI, GMS is carried out and that they are kept up to date, submitted properly at the end of each month and payment is reconciled as set down by Company Procedures.
  • To ensure good retail standards and practices are in place and maintained, including: Category Management, Merchandising and Stock Control.
  • To keep up to date with all changes to legislation and P.S.I. Practice guidance.
  • To Negotiate with wholesalers to attain best prices for Stock

Knowledge/Skills:

  • GPhC registered and MUR accredited
  • Excellent communication and management capabilities
  • Previous Pharmacy Management experience
  • Previous experience in People Management - dealing with HR, reviews and rota planning
  • Excellent observation and analytical abilities
  • Experience with premium brands
  • Ability to make the staff work as a team by portraying good leadership qualities
  • Excellent presence of mind and ability to make quick decision
  • Ability to handle stress
  • Excellent troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to use discretion when addressing information with strict confidentiality.
