ISC is designed to put you back in control of your bladder and not let your bladder control you!

A Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) relates to damage to the spinal cord that causes temporary or permanent changes in its function. Causes can include neurological illness (ie Multiple Sclerosis, spinal cord tumours and osteoporosis) congenital defects or infection (non-traumatic) or through traumatic injuries, such as falls, sporting injuries and road traffic accidents.

Indwelling foley catheters are soft, hollow tubes that are inserted into the bladder to drain urine. They are held in the bladder by a water-filled balloon. Sometimes the catheter is inserted via the urethra and sometimes it is done suprapubically (see image below).

It is thought that as many as 1 in 3 women suffer urinary incontinence and 1 in 7 bowel incontinence after childbirth. So, if you find yourself experiencing bladder and bowel challenges after having a baby, rest assured you are not alone.
